Shruti Institute for Vedic Arts (Shruti Inc) has developed Sanskrit courses and curriculum according to a very specific methodology known as The Sanskrit for Yogis Method™. This methodology was developed by Shruti Inc who is the sole owner and developer of this methodology that is fully protected as Shruti Inc intellectual property as afforded by the protections of international copyright law. Overview of the Sanskrit for Yogis™ Course and the Sanskrit for Yogis Method™ The Sanskrit for Yogis™ Course is a unique Sanskrit course that teaches Sanskrit as a subjective science and technology of consciousness instead of an objective dead classical language. In The Sanskrit for Yogis™ Course specific care is given to the ancient method for how Sanskrit is taught as part of an aural tradition in keeping with the traditional way Vedic knowledge was consistently taught as it was handed down from master to disciple (teacher to student) in an intimate fashion according to its sacred tradition. The Sanskrit for Yogis Method™ also describes how Sanskrit technology works, based on nama-rupa (name and form), how its pronunciation must be perfected in order to produce desired effects, how meaning and feeling are connected unlike with other classical languages, and how its sounds are located in different centers of the body creating profound and specific changes on conscious awareness. This subjective approach is a completely different method of teaching Sanskrit than those employed by all other programs for learning Sanskrit. Uniqueness of the Sanskrit for Yogis™ Course and the Sanskrit for Yogis Method™ All other Sanskrit instructional programs teach according to academic paradigms which employ objective approaches to learning language. Under the academic approach Sanskrit is treated as a dead classical language where heavy emphasis is placed on understanding rules of grammar, memorization, and translation of text and meaning from Sanskrit to English. In contrast, The Sanskrit for Yogis Method™ is an immersive and subjective method for experiencing the language of Sanskrit subjectively as a personal development experience. Under The Sanskrit for Yogis Method™ there's no emphasis placed on translation or rules of grammar. Instead strong emphasis is placed on the experience of the language as a technology of consciousness, of sacred sound, for personal development of conscious awareness stressing the importance of exact and proper pronunciation of the Sanskrit sounds. Additional emphasis is placed on locating the sounds source within various forms and creatures of nature as well as within specific locations, energy centers and channels of the body. This describes the relationship of subtle physiology to sacred sound and describes how it affects personal subjective experience including how the sounds infulence consciousness to produce heightened awareness. The Sanskrit for Yogis Method™ revives an ancient Vedic teaching approach coupling it with specific teachings passed down through the Vedic Shankaracharya tradition, and using specific publications which comprise the Sanskrit for Yogis™ Course, and which shows how this is connected to other Vedic sciences such as Yoga (asana, postures, breath), Ayurveda (health, medicine and food), Jyotisha (astrology, karma and personal expression) and Sthapatya Veda (Vastu, architecture, and spacial energy).
